yer its me and i have been using a very differnt technique for ages (heel up using pretty much my hole leg) and about a week ago i stumbled on this technigue by accident and today i realised i could get at much higher speeds (if i nailed it) using tis techniques and it would take less energy as long as i prepare my muscles. I dont think its any particular technique but i could be wrong so i just asked.Farview said:He isn't very consistant.
I dont like heel down at all. It lacks, as you said, power and makes the bass drum sound week.Farview said:The heal down technique might get you more speed in the short term, but it will sacrifice power. Power is what will make the drum speak the way that it needs to in order to give definition to your speed.
Play to a metronome. Every 5 minutes or so, when you are comfortable, raise the bpm a couple notches. Lather rinse repeat. When your legs get tired or start to hurt, take a breather. When you come back, lower the bpm to the last comfortable position. If you do this, with the heal up technique, you will gain the precision, stamina and sound that is needed for this sort of playing.
Then your doing it right. While you're on youtube, look up Jason Bittner. Watch what he is doing, he has incredible speed and power, a combination that not a lot of people have.breeeeza said:Allthough this new technique i developed is heel up it is using more of the ankle. Thanks
