My d.a.w is on a laptop with an 1/8th inch out.Car stereo has 1/8th inch in.Anyone mix in their car?

Don't mix in the car.

But do check your mix in the car. And on tinny laptop speakers. And iPod docks. And Bluetooth speakers.

Seriously, cars are a bad place to mix. The acoustics are awful due to the physical design of car interiors.

I don't but I do check mixes there. The problem is the bass is wonky on my truck stereo.

all that glass in the car is going to screw up the high end judgement, mixing music for cars isn't the best idea.

I just read an article where a couple guys were talking about how they did a lot of work on their latest album in cars. I think it was mostly demos and arrangements and things, but there was mention of tracking vocals in a parking lot. The guitarists had to stand outside the car cause the vocalist was self-conscious. IDK if they were actually listening on the car stereo, though. Probably just earbuds. ;) Who was that? Where was that? I'll have to go look...

Recording/mixing in the car reminds me of this Seinfeld episode:
