Unpossible!
If you build or buy bass traps you'll end up re-mixing EVERYTHING!!! :D

In all seriousness, I am BLOWN AWAY at the difference six 2'X4'X4" 703 traps made. I was focusing on the deep bass with the freq generator, and didn't notice a whole lot of improvement. As soon as I fired up a previously mixed song - WOW! A lot more detail, a lot better imaging, and a lot less mud. Huge difference.

I know it's been said a bajillion times, but I seriously reccomend either buying Ethans traps or building them yourself! I'm gonna build for more this week.......

Thanks Ethan for all you do to help around here!

i third that.

doing RTA graphs was fun and a learning experience.
but the Pink Noise just doesn't catch the "music" or mix.

according to a chart several speakers "look" similar, but listening to music is a whole different set of data....which is very hard to articulate.."warm" woofy" shimmering" crisp" deep".... :D

Just another vote for home recordists spending more time on acoustics and less time on shopping for boutique preamps and microphones. People like Ethan who carry this message are doing a great service.

I can say without exaggeration that all my recording and mixing headaches disappeared when I installed bass traps. I didn't even get into RTA or other scientific analyses, I have small rooms so I just did lots of bass trapping and couldn't be happier.

Thanks guys. Acoustic treatment is arguably more important than anything else.

Now if you tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and ...

I never listen to Ethan Whiner either. I instead worship a small clay statue of him I have in my studio.

I am currently constructing traps for my humble little room!

Looking forward to the results! :)

Thanx Ethan, Rick and Frederic for your shared knowledge! :)
