hi everyone, I dont know how to record with my minidisk player, its a Sony MZ-R500
I tried to serch the wbe for some kind of manual as i got this one from my brother and he hasnt got it anymore.

I plug this cable i bought at a store (they told me its the right one i need) into my minidisk in the slot "LINE IN (OPTICAL)" and the other end i plug into the headphone slot from my radio/Cd-player..
now i dont know wich buttons to press in order to record,

-thanks mighty in advance!

sounds daft?

never heard of a fiber optic going into a headphone jack?

but you never know with Sony..they try anything for a month. :)

ahh thanks, ill go to the shop that sold me the plug, those morrons..

ehh, i have the MZ-R55... probably a little older, but mine on the LINE IN(OPTICAL) had little metal contacts on the inside of it, so the cord isnt the problem. I think the line in is only digital. If you have a digital out on whatever it is that you are recording from, try that. if not, try the red MIC IN on the MiniDisc. You might have to adjust the volume and/or use the reg headphone out from what you are recording from.

good luck

The line in on Sony recorders does double-duty as analog line in and digital optical in. It senses which cable is being used. You have the right cable.

For instructions, download the manual at Sony.

Sony support

Type in the model number, and you are all set. You need Adobe Acrobat reader to read it- it's a pdf file. Acrobat is free if you need it.

Have fun!
