Cool stuff GT!

The odd vocal pitch problems, but hell so did the Beatles.

You got a good voice overall! Is that you singing?, that must be the first GT vocal track I've heard.

Drum machines... generally suck. No comment and no fault of yours.

Guitar playing is great, nice smooth and warm sounding.

I though the backup harmony was a bit loud (in parts) in comparison to the lead, and that maybe you could add a few more backups and make them a bit wetter sounding. I havn't heard the original in years though.

Good stuff GT!

Hey GT,

Harmonies sound nice. The vox sounded a little harsh and had some crackle on this end. Might very well just be me;). Very nice rhythm section and a fine cover.

Glad to hear something from you dude!:)

Nice tune,

Peace,

Theron:cool:

Nice vocal vocals GT.The harmonies sound great.Sounds kinda like the beatles with the harmonies singing the lines "I still love her"...sounds really cool.I just listened to this before you posted here over on Nowhere....I seem to be catching a lot of songs over there first before they make it the board.;)

Very nice Vocal tune GT.Enjoyed it.:)

Didnt you get a new recorder just a little while back?(Zoom?)Have you wore it out yet?:D

Hey GT, I enjoyed that! You do have a good voice, smooth and high. Seems you could add some guitar licks in there, and maybe some shaker or tamb, when it goes to the bridge. Not sure why you panned the harmony left, and the rest in mono.

Another cool Beatle cover (didn't you do Lady Madonna a while back?)

So thats why I thought it sounded like the beatles. :o

I liked it. I think the bg vocals need to be up to give the song its flavor....kinda like Chicago always cranks the trombone part to give it 'their' sound. A nice jangly ric sound would be nice, but I don't recall the original that well.

neat!!

GT...LOVE THE BEATLES! Any way you can add a third harmony on the right side? It would be awesome. If not, you need to bring the low harmony more center. But I'm telling you man, a third harmony would elevate song this to the top. Good vocals. I'd add a tad more riffs in the drums to get it away from a drum machine sound, too. Really enjoyed this man. I need to show my ignorance here. What does it mean when you say it for a cover? Thanks.

I listened to this on Nowhere's front page before you posted here and then hit reply as soon as you posted without reading your opening post........thats how I didnt catch the Beatles reference. You even said it was a beatles cover in your post!Shame on me for listening and not reading your post.

Thanks so much!!

Emeric

Voice needs a lot of work, that's me singing (cough).

Drum machine, does the best it can, I try to make it sound as good as possible, hope it's not to grating.

I think the backup harmony was a little too loud now that you mention it. I tried not to use too much verb, haven't found the magic setting as of yet.

theron

I tried to warn you I was going to sing, ha ha!! I didn't hear any crackle on my side, but I will turn down the treble on the mic a notch for the next go round. Glad you liked it.

BTW: I used the free mic that I got when I bought my Zoom MRS-4 at Sam Ash's "Buy this, get that" sale. It's an Electro Voice Co9, cobalt, whatever that means.

Be back to talk more later, have to go now, thanks again.

that was cool GT!

Agree with the previous comments.. I don't think the vocals need to be any louder though..

Hey GT.....
I hadnt had the pleasure of hearing anything from you yet...... Im glad I got to hear this. Im not familiar with the original, but the cover is quite good. Nice job w/ the vocs.... very natural sounding. The left voc might be a touch hot..... but a very impressive, and clean little ditty. Nice work!!:)

OK, home from work

Kramer

I love it, sounds kind of lke the Beatles, and you didn't even know it was a cover LMAO!! I did get a new recorder, Zoom MRS-4 four track. Great little machine, but very bare bones. Glad you liked it!!

Thanks for the encouraging words about my voice, I needed that. I feel that I need to practice a lot more than I do, but like I said before, I'm like the kid, that has to practice the piano, my voice is not my insrument of choice. As to the mix, I wanted to keep it simple, maybe I went too far. Man, you got some ear, the mis you said I used was exactly the way I recorded it. I kind of went for the old quirky George Martin type of mix, just for the fun of it.

BTW: Still listening to your last song, very awesome!!

Thanks for the listen, glad you enjoyed it. I do have a Ric bass.

Three part harmony on this, might be cool. Low harmony should have been more to the center, the mob has spoken, that is why this place rocks. Yeah the drum part was a tad simplistic. Thanks for the listen.

Glad you liked it!! Looking forward to hearing lots more from you!!

Guernica

Thanks for the listen, hope to do an original soon, covers are good practice. I have played the hell out of that Kiss cover that you and Bob did, I really like that one.

GT, I was about 15 or so when this one was released, always dug it.
If memory serves, in the original the guitar goes down a step on the word "party" (if you're in G, go to F on "party" instead of going to the IV).
Good singing and playing, and a very cool song to cover.

It looks like you've got the pointers you might need, but I wanted to add that this is a really good sounding recording. I can hear how much you like the song! Good performance and production.

Tom

Vocals where way to loud on my end. Breaking up bad at some places. It could be my system, maybe thats why I'm having so many prob's with my songs.

Dam nice ......was just listened to some Beatles on the radio today and you've done a fine job.

.. perhaps reaching on the vocals in a few places, but still on the money....

nice job,

/DMM

Ah, a fellow Beatles fan! I dig it my friend.

Looks like you and I are in the same chronological boat (boo hoo).
Glad you enjoyed it!!

SLuiCe

Thanks for the listen. Got to tell you again that your latest is incredible!!

mcmd

Thanks much, I try to use the Beatles as kind of free voice lessons, if you know what I mean.

Track Rat

Allways nice to hear from you, a fellow cover afficianato. What are you working on lately?
