The weird part is that if this is for a pin router or a copy router, cutting a body in half is silly. I can't see your pictures that you posted, but I will assume the body is slice in 1/2 depth-wise. All you'll get is a basic outline; no back contour, no tremolo spring cutout, nothing. You could have traced it on a piece of plywood, and saved an American body.
I'll make him an offer. I'll offer to find him professional help. Or I'll offer him a link to this eBay item; Strat Vinyl Guitar Template Builder Stratocaster | eBay. $15 and he could have saved a body. Silly.
 
I've done that before. Works very well.

It's easier to to use a template cutter to make a copy of the copy but if the part in question is shit (Fender) just cut that baby any way you feel like it.
 
I dunno, Mutt- seems to me a USA Strat body is worth more whole than bifurcated.
