Does Pro-Tools 9 need hardware?

I've been reading around and I've seen a couple of people mention something about hardware with Pro-Tools.
I only own a Mobile PreUsb audio interface by M-Audio.
My MIDI keyboard just plugs straight into my computer.

Will I be able to record in Pro-Tools?

No PT9 doesnt require Avid* hardware, so yes your mobile pre will be fine. Although there is better intergration and support if you use Avid hardware.
You can use PT9 without any hardware if you download a little thing called ASIO4All

previous versions needed the maudio card i think but im well aware that pt9 doesn't, i use it with my tone port
