Does Cubase SE come with plugins...

Noisedude - I'm very happy with my SE. It doesn't have the same (latest) audio processing engine that SL or SX have, I don't know how well equipped and experienced you'd have to be to tell the difference. It's absolutely rock solid and stable on my machine.

Nice one. those links Scrtubs posted are still worth a look if you haven't already

Good stuff! I've got copious amounts, now I just need to figure out how to use all of these plugins

Cool. It seems like a sideways step, and that I'd be better off with SL, but I won't be able to afford that. Although university are going from SL v1 to v3, so if I could snaffle a v1 disc and buy the SL3 upgrade on educational licence ... it might still be manageable.

But otherwise, SE will be my way to go. I always like VST anyway, it was just that i wanted to go all-legal. It's why I'm using Windows 98SE for recording now, cos I only had one licence for XP.

Garry - by the way - I got initial funding and other support for my project ... and we start teaching after Easter! I've had some positive things said in terms of future help, and it turns out one of my friends hands out money from the Lottery good causes fund, so she's going to help me apply for some of that!

Is the interface, windows, etc the same in SE as in the demo version of SX? I bought a book a while back with the demo version on its cd and liked it but don't want to have to relearn the things the demo taught me if it's different from SE. A recent crash took down my computer and, since I'm rebuilding and reinstalling all my software, I might as well move to Cubase if there's no additional learning curve involved. I really like the way the demo handles VSTIs and plug-ins.

Thanks.

That's excellent - well done. I'm sorry I still haven't made it up there. Good luck anyway.

Yeah, was wondering about that but I just assumed the prospect of a net name becoming a real person was decided to be a less than great idea!!! How many weeks now til the big day?

About 6 weeks I think. And no, it was just that the client didn't need me up there, out of my control. If I come I'll let you know :)

Six weeks ... you think? You know you're counting them ... or at least counting the days til your exotic honeymoon ;)

Take it easy mate ... I'll be thinking of you whilst I'm meeting the Hyatts!!
