Has anyone had any luck getting these 2 programs to work together...
Thanks ,RR

Yes!

I bought EZdrummer a month or so ago. I am using Cubase SX3.

Once installed, it should appear in your VSTi rack (F11) along with your other instruments. You can use it like any other instrument, or you can simply drag n' drop parts from the instrument direct to the track.

What problems are you having? I've found it fairly straightforward so far.

I'm using it with SX3 and triggering it with a cheap electronic kit and getting some beyond belief results. I love it.

Any questions fire away

Don't use Cubase, but I've been thinking about doing this as well. A friend owns a Hart electronic kit and as soon as I build my new DAW PC, I'm hoping to borrow it and use it with EZ Drummer.

I'm sorry I should have made my question more specific. But i was aiming to get responses from people that have used it with great success..And apparently you guys have...

I think the main problem that I'm having is with learning how to use Cubase/Nuendo with ease right now...
I've been using Adobe for a couple of years now with great ease and i see now I need to step up. Mainly because I wanted D.F.H or something and some other V.S.T. stuff..

But right now I have EZ drummer Because it was cheap and looked cool...I've also downloaded a demo of cakewalk to see if that was easier than Cubase/Nuendo..But since I have already paid good money for Nuendo..Hell I got a good deal but it was really expensive... I might as well stick with it...

I got this big Nuendo power book that looks like an encyclopedia and they have good support and I'm still having a hard time..This is the hardest thing I ever tried on a computer...

As far as EZ drummer goes every time i copy and paste beats Nuendo adds another midi track ...And if i add a fill it never fits in place ..Nothing I do works right. ...
I guess it will be alright if you program everything yourself but i thought the whole point of EZ drummer was to help you to keep from having to program every little thing and make drum tracks quick.....

Thanks for the responses:D RR

Hi

I'm using ezdrummer with SX3 and I don't have the problems you have. I'm not sure about 'copy and paste'. All I do is hit F11 to call up ezdrummer, listen to the parts there, then drag them into the midi track, straight from ezdrummer.

It works really easily for me, which doesn't help you I guess.

Have you tried just clicking on the part withing ezdrummer and dragging it into your midi track ? Sorry I can't be more descriptive but I'm at work, not sitting in front of Cubase.

Ha Ha Lasagne,Thanks for the reply though..
Yes I believe we are doing it the same way..I just don't have a habbit of using the F11 is the only difference...

It's weird a friend of mine from Soundclick has a hard time with those 2 programs together..he suggested using it with Fruity instead and be done with it...But you are having no problems with it..And I would really like to master this massive software..It's a monster...

This is exactly what I'm doing step by step ..And I swear I'm doing it just Like the guy at EZ said...though I could be wrong...
When ever I call up EZ drummer I just use the mouse by clicking the "edit vst Instrument" tab on the automation panel .

Well, I guess I should not have said copy and paste, because I left click on the beat and as I hold the left click down i drag the beat over to the midi track and let it go..So I guess I'm dragging it... And as soon as I let go "BOOM" ! the beat I was supposed to have dragged to midi track 1 ends up in a newly open track and it's in a new midi track 2 instead...
And the fills never go in to time or fit in the grid...and when I try to make them fit it goes out of control and everything sounds like a crack head drummer instead...

I guess I need a lot of practice and start bugging the shit out of Cubase and EZ drummer...Maybe they will send me back and forth ...Guess I'll get to that after I get done with Time Warner cable Customer care..... Wow I'm in for a good night......Or three:rolleyes: ....

Thanks ,RR

Hey Rockin. Different version of cubase act differently with EZDrummer. I have SE3 and when I drag and drop the ezdrummer file it *does* go to a new midi track. No problem, just drag it off the new midi track to wherever you want it. Then delete the newly created midi track. Use ALT-Click to make duplicates, Shift-Click to select more than one. Doing this you can have a basic drum track for an entire song in minutes. Then, of course, you have to go back and customize, but that's the fun part.

I hear Cubase 4 allows you to drop the ezdrummer file anywhere you want and it won't create a new midi track.

Hope this helps.

Oh, forgot about the fills. What I usually do is drag them over like you do, let them go to a new midi track, then I double click on the fill beat (or pattern or file or whatever we call it), I drag a box around all the notes to select them and copy (Ctrl-C). Then I open the pattern in the measure where I want it to go and delete the notes that I want to replace. Then I paste the fill into the area of that pattern where I want. When I got what I want, I delete the new midi track and patterns on it.

I hope this comes across okay, kind of difficult to explain in writing.

Hope this helps, too.

Thanks Chill, There are some upgrades I need to get. I think that extra track problem going away would make it worth it..

Yes this is helpful info ..I would like to hear some recordings where you did this sometime..

Take care,RR

 I just tried that and read this 5 times,lol:D ...But I Think I misunderstand again,lol.. I'll keep trying..TTYL,RR

Don't forget, that SNAP must be activated so that when you drag things around they keep in time. I have mine set to 'bar' for ease of use. Otherwise when you move things around or copy/paste, they'll be out of time!

If you've already created a MIDI track for EZdrummer, then draggin them into shouldn't create a new MIDI track.
