I don't know what it is but it has some characteristics that say "Astatic" to me. It also looks rather Soviet.

I had to google it and came across this - Astatic 1964 catalogue, and the mic in question does look pretty similar to some in the catalogue, but i can't see that exact one if it's there

Are there any markings/clues at all anywhere on the mic?

And like Kip, i'd love to hear how it sounds please

Cool, a rebranded EV 623. I used to have an "Executone" mic, a rebranded EV 664, so I know they did that.
