Does Anyone own the Tascam Fw1884

i am thinking of getting this unti for my studio...
i am currently buliding a pc
i have yorkville ysmp-1 monitors
i have mics and a crappy preamp..

me and my buddy used to own a motu 2408mk3. my only problem with it was no xlrs inputs. i didnt want to spend more money getting more preamps or a mixer .. so i though this unit would work well.. seeing as i could plug mics directly into it..

some info would be apperacited!

It's a nice unit if you have the right setup and can get it working properly. The preamps are plenty hot, clean and quiet. It works very well with Sonar 3.1.

i would be using nuendo. i was just reading about all the problems this thing has on the tascam website. i am a little worried now about getting one. how does it compare to the motu 192 hd? i need a good card with at least 8 inputs (xlrs preferably) and i would like to have some faders and stuff. i know the motu doesnt have an control surface. could i get somthing for it?
