****Does anyone own a Tascam 35-2 ...Need info****

I have a Tascam 35-2 that will play sound from previous recordings (old tapes) and appears to record but can't hear playback after recording.. (very faint). Could some tell me what I'm doing wrong for playback? ........ Thanks for your time.

Monitor in "tape" position when playing back? Using the headphone output or the rca jacks in the back?
 
Rick....... Yes, I have tried it both ways. Steenamaroo....... the heads have been cleaned.
Thanks for your input....but I'm still searching and hoping........

I have a 35-2 when you want to record something,first put the transport in record mode by pressing
the rec and pause buttons, next on the recorder/reproducer unit, press the source button, and then press the record mode button right under the right vu meter, and press the forward button on the
transport unit it should start recording,when you are done, on the rec/pro unit press the tape out
button, turn off the record mode button and it should play if you have any trouble give me a shout
