Hey there, ive been thinking. if i where to have say a Fender Bassman Ri. 50W, if i put a light bulb, say 40 W, inbetween the speaker and the Amp would i be left with 10 W entering the speaker? Would this work, or have i got it ALL wrong!

maybe you should get a hot plate. You can get one for 300 bucks.

For one thing, you are comparing apples and grapes.......the light bulb only has resistance, no impedance. Similar concept, but the speaker behaves differently because of it's impedance.

But I hesitate to suggest that the light bulb would make your cab into a 90w speaker...... (if the speaker is reated at 50w)......just to be safe, I'm gonna say No this aint right! But something aint right about me, either, so FWIW.....

Oh god how emmbarasing :o !! Oh well im glad i asked! Thanks anyway, im going to go and dig myeself a hole now!!
