DO you turn your machine off or let it idle?

Rock Steady
I run an AMD 1700+ on a FIC ad11 mb with XP. I have 3 quiet fans running along with a 5 1/4" slot fan for the HD. I almost never turn it off except for cleaning or if there's a thunderstorm.
What do you guys do?

When I'm done for the day, everything gets powered down.

My computer is on, unless I'm asleep or out for like more than an hour. My server however, built from ordinary PC parts runs 24/7

Not only power down at the end of the day, but also throw the switch on the power bar everything is plugged in to get rid of all standby crap. Unless of course when something has to run the whole night like a defrag...

Yeah, I forgot to mention that when I leave the studio I kill the breaker that feeds the equipment so no nasties can sneak in and blow something up when I'm not around.

My Mac stays on 24/7. For some unknown reason this thing doesn't like to shut down, so I just leave it on. I do put it in "sleep" mode if I'm gonna be away for a while though.

I always shut down. Track throwing the breaker is a great idea..

Hi

Not only do I power down and throw the switch on the power strips that everything is plugged into, but I also unplug the power strips from the AC outlets (disconnected from the 'grid')...

I'm so paranoid...

I'm with Thom IV.
Turn off everything, unplug everything...
