I know that when you tape cassette to cassette, you lose a little each time.

But can someone tell me if CD's lose anything when you burn CD to CD?

No. Digital copies are lossless, at least as far as I know.

If the file stays in the digital domain the whole time then you dont lose anything. If you have to go through an analog cable then you are going to change the sound somewhat. It may not be noticeable but it wont be an 'exact' copy.

Does it remain in the digital domain when I burn from the "D" drive to the "E" drive on my PC?

Thanks

Apoligies...

"D" is the the CD ROM
and "E" is the burner.

This may be just me, but I never do cd to cd copies. I always make an image first, and then burn the image from my hard drive. You can burn at higher speeds with greater success that way.

Thank you "Elevate" "Tex" and "Vurt"

Add another notch!

The short answer is yes, when you dupe from one internal PC CD drive to an internal CDR drive, you get a 100% exact copy.

As long as you dont go outside the computer or CD player with an analog cable and dont convert to MP3 you are making an exact copy. Rwhite, our resident IT pro, is correct.
