He basically acheived his success through "hot gay relations" with older men involved in the music business. His nickname is a "nod" to his benefactors. I alway just referred to him as "ass daddy", just kind of amusing to me I guess. we always tell them, "don't worry you'll get used to it" and "this is how it's done." you'd be suprised at the amount of gangsta rappers that'll go the extra mile. We always referred to p. diddy as the "madonna" of the rap world. peace out.
 
i don't give a sh*t about dude because he ain't putting any money in my pocket.

at the same time, unless puffy started blowing industry cats way back in the early 80's thats not where he got his name.

dudes was calling him puffy back in the early 80's when he was at howard u. and use to check for the go-go bands in DC.

lots of NY cats was coming down to DC and getting sent to the cemetary back then.

nubs if you gone lie at least make the shit sound right dam you making liars look bad. he got his name frome his attitude he used to always swell up and be huffin when he was working as a dancer and always runnin it about what he gone do always running back and fourth with his demos trying to get put on.
