Do they make what Im looking for?

Hey Everyone,

Im in the process of recording drums onto my Protools LE 5.3.1 setup. The nicest mic i have to stick in my kick is a sm 58. it doesnt sound bad, however, its not the sound im really looking for.

Do they make a patch (if thats the right term) that is a sampled sound of a bass drum? Like something that you could apply to the track like you would apply reverb?

I guess im looking for a sampled kick drum sound to trigger when I play my real bass drum.

Im not positive, but i think drumagog lets you do this......Check out www.drumagog.com .......

I don't think Drumagog comes in RTAS. I am not sure if SoundReplacer comes in RTAS either, but that is usually the plugin on PT systems that people use to do this. Check it out.

Definitely check out Soundreplacer. It works in the RTAS format (and works well too.)

Several companies such as Alesis (D4, DM5) make modules which can be used along with a trigger attached to the Kick drum such as the DDrum for this purpose. The D4 should be under $325 on Ebay.
