Do people like aggresive, emotional songs as opposed to manufactured pop these days?

Besides girls, clubs and sex, do people like emotional, aggresive, political, make you feel bad kind of songs?
I know I'm talking about a minority group since these days 90% of kids would rather listen to the manufactured pop/one hit wonders as opposed to songs which I talked about above.
I can think of linkin park who've kinda really cashed in on their suicide, pain, aggresion related songs.

Words and what a song is about doesnt matter much to me...Its more about the melody and feel of the song.

Example...listen to a song in a different language...do the actual words matter?..not really.

Its the music itself that runs the show and the melody.

Of course its a bonus if the song has good lyrics however its not the most important thing for me.

I'm afraid that most of the "emotional, aggresive, political, make you feel bad kind of songs" are just another kind of "manufactured pop".

The rappers aren't gangstas and the metalheads aren't anarchists. This entertainment is all run through the same kind of focus groups as the Jonas Brothers. If they pass the test they get served up to their relevant niche markets. The nineteen year old in leather and studs is just as much of a tool as any thirteen year old girl at a Hannah Montana concert.

Kratos, the more threads I read by you the more I think you need to step back from what you accomplish and just let the music flow.

It seems you want to conform to what is selling/popular and this is not what music is about!!!

Music is an art, and you need to be yourself. Who cares what people like? It's so strange how many threads you have regarding the same exact thing!!!!

Play music you like, write songs..

In my opinion you need to forget about recording for a while and just play around with an instrument.................

It's a legitimate question - and is in the right section.

Because of your other threads I just assumed that you were asking because you wanted to know what kind of songs to write.
