Do I need a preamp/compressor?

Hi Guys,

My current setup is as follows:

Audio Technica 4047-->Mbox2 mini-->computer

That is my signal path. Is it worth it for me to include a preamp and/or compressor in between the Microphone and the mbox2.

Are you thoroughly happy with the results that you're getting now? If no then you probably want to try a mic preamp to see if that helps. If yes then you probably want to try a mic preamp to see if you like it better.
