DMP3 or Omni I/O ?

Hi there, this is my first post so please be kind. ;)

I'm a total newbie to digital home studio, and i'm looking
for some opinions on choosing a basic (and budget) setup.

What i'm mostly going to be doing is recording acoustic
instrumentals one instrument at a time, but some ensemble
recording would be good too (for my band.) Basically a
few mics, and a big pile of acoustic folk instruments.

Based on the reading i've been doing, i think i want a
Delta 44 card, and i do need a mic preamp as well. I had
just about decided on getting a DMP3, and then i found my
supplier selling a bundle for the same money, with the
Delta 66 and Omni I/O.

Now, i think the difference between the Delta 44 and 66
isn't going to be that noticeable in my day-to-day life,
but is the Omni I/O a better choice than the DMP3? It
looks like all the extra connections could make my life
easier, but at this point i don't know exactly how. :)

Or is the DMP3 a superior mic pre and i should stick to
that? (Those VU meters look pretty sweet! :)

I guess i want to know what i'll be missing if i jump
either way.

Thanks in advance,

piper.
