DMA check

I can t turn on DMA box!!! I don t know why!

I check the DMA box, restart the computer, and when i go to control panel>system, the box is not check!! I don t understand!

Do both the devices on that IDE channel support DMA?

Yes!!

primary IDE master HD 4Gb

secondary IDE master HD 20Gb

both support DMA!

Check in control panel to see if anything else is set for the same DMA channel.
Control Panel / System / Device Manager / View by Connection if you are using Win98

I don't know if this would uncheck the DMA box - probably not - but make sure you have an ata66 cable for running udma66 or ata100 cable for udma100. Also, make sure your mobo supports it. Hope that helped.
