Hi i have got a DM5 pro kit the other day works fine. But i have a dual zone snare trigger (pad, it looks lyk a drum with proper drum heads) But i connect it through 1 cable into the Alesis module. I want to know how to use this dual zone correctly, you should be able to hit the rim and the center of the snare with 2 different sounds but i can only hit the center of the snare with sound. The rim i cant find how to connect a sound to it. One other thing when i hit the hi hat and bass at the same time the bass cuts out the hihathave i not set it up correctly and can somebody help me please thanks ever so much.

You need to use a TRS cable for dual zone triggers/pads/drums. If you're using a regular TS cable you'll only get one zone. IDK about the hh/bass drum thing, if you have all the cables hooked up to the right inputs, it should play em both at once, never heard of that..

I have Roland v-drums, not Alesis, but I thought all the pads and brains were interchangeable. I thought they all operated the same way, and that's been reinforced in my mind by the fact that I've hooked up a lot of different pads from different companies to my modules with no problems whatsoever. Do you have a TRS cable you could try with it? What kind of cable is it currently connected with?

I'm not sure what a Y-cable would do in this case.. Run 2 pads into the same input on the module? How would the module know which pad sent the signal? The only Y-cables I ever saw was for hooking up 2 single zone pads to a dual zone input on the module, and those are NOT a standard TS/TS -> TRS cable..
