Anybody using it? If so do you think it is all that? I am considering buying it to program realistic drums...it is kinda ginormous though...85.000 samples, 35 gigs of HD space needed. But that is not really an issue as i will have a PC that will have a sick amount of RAM and Memory in it. Any thoughts or help is much appreciated...Thanks

I have not had first hand experience with Drum Kit From Hell but those who have fast enough computers to run it and prefer the sound of acoustic drums say it's the shit.

It IS a huge memory hog though, and not just the 35 gigs of HD space it takes. Plan on getting a minimum of a gig and a maximum of the limit that your machine will access if you're planning to do any serious work with it.

I use it extensively and I an consistently blown away by it. The latest version is MUCH more easy on the memory, so you could get by running it on a more modest machine these days, but there is still no way around the 35 gigs of samples, but HD space doesn't seem to be much of an issue to you.

If you have the ability to program it skillfully, you'll be able to fool anybody with it's realism. Great program.

I just recently purchased it, and am still in the learning stages. My PC is a 3 Ghz P-4, with 1Gb of Ram. Seems to work fine with it. I use Sonar5 Studio Edition. I've had no problems with it, other than not being a drummer, it's hard for me to figure out what kits sound best and such. Just simple things that will take time. Also, once you bounce the tracks down, you must then mix it like real....mine have usually been 9 different mic'd tracks. Makes it fun, and sounds way better than a drum machine.

Just my $1.89 worth.... :D

Running it here. It's pretty amazing. My drummer friend has done some tracks for me and you would be hard pressed to figure out if you're listening to software or the real thing.

The cymbals are absolutely pristine to my ears. The learning curve is only slightly steep and once you get your own sets designed you can put together a nice sound fairly quick.

I have a running debate with the drummer about the gear necessary to create similar tracks. He is starting to see that an investment in mics and preamps would have to be pretty high to equal the sound this package can produce.
