DKFH LM4 triggering from one midi track??

Hi all.

I've bought myself the DKFH and LM4 to add some life to my sequenced drums.

LM4 only loads one instrument (eg, bass drum) at a time. So to have Kick, nsare, tom, hats, cymbals each with live and room samples takes loads of instances of LM4.

This I can cope with.

What is making my programming life hell is having to have each individual instrument in it's own midi track. Any way around this????

You are incorrect about the LM 4. You can have up to 18 sounds in one track. Each pad holds one instrument and therefor you can play 18 "notes" per track.

However, I find it's usually a good idea the use seperate tracks for everything, hihat, snare, kick etc. Because that way you get more control of the midi tracks, and it keeps things clean and clear. The LM 4 offer multiple mono outputs from a single VSTi instance, allowing you to for instance, proccess the snare differently from the hihats.

You really don't need a new VSTi instance for everything. Read the manual of the LM4 a bit to find out how to route stuff you can use one VSTi for everything you wanna do (it should very much be possible).
