OOOOOOO I figured it OUT!!!

DIY = DO IT YOUSELF!!!!!

and I have a pic of how to make your own........ I just need to post it sometime........ it will be soon =)

Gee thanks Sabith... I know what DIY stands for....... ;)

Let me re-state --

If you're a mic designer and you're using your own properly-designed mic, then you already know the answer to your question. If you're not a mic designer, and you're using a DIY job, the answer to the question is to go buy a real freakin' mic!!! :)

Seriously, unless you're a designer, a homemade job just isn't going to cut it - without or without a pop screen to trap plosives.

Harlot, if you're talking about a pop filter, you make 'em out of embroidery hoops with really thin nylon stretched over the hoop. You buy a hose clamp from the hardware store that goes around the mic. Then you cut up and bend a coat hanger to connect the hoop to the hose clamp. You'll need something like a couple of bulldog clips to attach the coat hanger to the hoop, and be ingenious in making it all hang together.

If you have an extra mic stand, use a clothes pin type mic clip to hold the "hoop with pantyhose" in front of the vocal mic. This contraption does work very well. You can blow directly on it and feel virtually nothing on the other side.
