DIY Guitar Cable Recommendations

I recently started making all of my own mic cables, and I've found that I really quite enjoy it. I'd like to make my own guitar cables, but don't want to waste my Star Quad when all I need is one conductor.

Any of you guys make your own guitar cables? What's your favorite bulk cable for that purpose, and do you have a preference in 1/4" TS jacks?

There are a bunch of threads on this forum about cables. Basically good cable and connectors will get you what you want.
There are the "upper level" stuff like mogami & canare, but I pretty much use
Neutrik connectors and Belden cable.
