DIY cable splitter

How would you solder together a simple cable splitter? I basically need to make a single male RCA go to two separate female RCAs. Do the wires from each female RCA solder onto the single male RCA? I'm not sure if you can solder two sets of wires onto a single tip and sleeve for the male RCA...if I make any sense.

If you have to wire yourself a hundred of these things, it might be worth the effort to save a few bucks. Otherwise, they sell 'em at Rat Shack and Wally World for about three or four bucks apiece. Save yourself the trouble.

I only need two, but I'll check my local Rat Shack...or "The Source" as it's now called here in Canada.

just mind the polarity and you'll be fine. the signal will lose some power though.

Actually it depends on the impedance of the receiving devices. Sometimes there is no loss.
