Hi
I was wondering if anyone out there had the schematics or plans to build your own audio interface.

Thanks

Well I can tell you it is Possible as TI and AD sells Developements Kits for there AD/DA Converters that just need a Analogue Front end (Mic preamp/Line amp) but these developement kits are very expensive (about $400 for 2 channels) so are quite prohibitive.... there will probably not be many Kits available for a AD/DA converter as they use allmost exclusively SMT parts which are very difficult to DIY unless you have some very expensive equipment....

You could buy a Regular AD/DA Converter interface and just DIY the analoge front end...That is pretty much what I did ,I use a Delta 44 and a Delta 1010LT and I built 10 channels of Mic preamps for the front end...It sounds good and works good and I don"t have to deal with the pesky Digital side of DIY electronics.....

Cheers

it's not worth it... and if you had the skill set necessary for the job you wouldn't need to ask the question... sorry just way too much involved... there may be some kits available... that would save you from having to do the software and the board layout... try some of the diy audiofool sites...

Not only that, but there's no way DIY would be cheaper than buying a budget sound card that has perfectly adequate performance.
