Distortion in Audio Track

Hello There,

When I record an audio track I get a distorted staticy sound, listen here: http://www.humanwoman.com/studio/static_ick/
I am using a firebox, phantom power switch is on, cubase LE, ibook.

I've had this set-up for about a year now, and it happened every once in a while throughout the year, but I would just close the program and start fresh and the problem would go away, but now it happens every time I record audio.

Any help would be very appreciated!!

A few spots are digitally clipped, but that's not the clicking problem. The entire file looks like a sawtooth wave, rather unusual.

Best thing to do is try to isolate the problem. Given your description of the problem, it almost sounds like it could be a clocking problem. Have you tried different sample rates?
