Distorted sound

hi. i own a TUBE MP by ART and a SP B1 microphone. i am having a problem recording by micing a guitar amp. it is a line6 combo amp with one speaker, and i can't seem to get a decent sound wherever i place the mic. it just sounds muddy. anyone have suggestions?

turn down the gain some and switch the guitar to the treble setting... this frees up some of the low frequencies for bass...try moving around the mic after that again and see what you come up with it.
