Distorted Noise When Recording

Hi guys, I use Cool Edit (so called Adobe Audition) with Samson G Track USB Condenser Mic,
I don't think I have any problem with my mic because it works fine and super clear and crisply when i sing softly or rap on it, (typically speaking when I sing verses it's fine, I like it)

but...! When I sing choruses where I would generally have to sing louder, it creates buzzes?hisses and distorted sounds... and I think this is due to my sound card...? I am currently using a sound card attached to my motherboard; Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition...)

First could someone explain to me the cause of this distortion? I've tried singing almost 70CM away from the mic,,
If this is due to my sound card, could anyone suggest me a decent-good sound card that I could easily get in Toronto? Prices under $100? preferrably...
(I don't think I need an audio interface because the mic has a built in audio interface already..)
Thanks

Your USB input is overdriving something, try your line input settings in your windows recording mixer. Even though it's USB, maybe this has something to do with it? Not sure, but your overdriving your PC somewhere. Hope this helps.

I don't understand what you mean by "windows recording mixer" I'm sorry I'm not reallygood with computers could you explain to me how I could access it?

With a USB mic you shouldn't even be using a soundcard at all. Your signal is going in through the USB port, not the analog ins on your soundcard.

Make sure you have the latest and greatest USB driver for your Samson - check their support website to see if there are any updates. Then once you are sure you have the latest/greatest driver, open it up and check it's settings and make sure it doesn't have a gain control that's pumped too high. Finally, make sure that CEP is actually set to read/use that particular driver, and that in input gain controls in CEP are set to unity gain or lower (no extra boost there) and that you're well below clipping the signal in CEP when recording.

If none of that does it for you, you might want to consider using something cleaner than a mic designed mainly for podcasting.

Thanks I've taken a look into the whole "driver" thing and according to the manual gudie on Samson website, it says No Special Drivers are necessary... hmm I will try lessen the volume control of mic (seems like a gain? thing).. but if i lessen the volume of mic in general, i don't think it would pick up softer sounds..
