i want to get the sound of the distortion guitar in using direct
recording. Is the GT pro suitable for me ?
My firend told me that only way to got great sounds with the gt pro is
running the GT pro to an amp. It's real?
Check the forums here to learn more on the GTPRO . www.bossgtcentral.com
You would probably want to go with the GT8 . Basically the same unit but alot cheaper.
Recording a guitar direct with any of those boards can sound okay but I don't care for it, many do. Going through an amp gives it a greater amount of "air" and realism. If all you are after is a distorted guitar effect, there are some wonderful stomps out there (Ibanez tube screamer, Klon Centaur, Fulltone, etc) that give a great vibe.
The Boss and other boards of that nature tend to overcompress rather than really crunch a guitar. My opinion only,YMMV
I'd definatley run the GTPRO through a good amp before I ran it directly in. Sometimes Direct will work, but miking a real amp is 9 outa 10 times better. IMHO, of cousre!
