Sorry for the late reply...

So the difference between my current setup (Lexicon Alpha) and the Fasttrack pro is just higher quality sound? If so, then I'll be ordering one soon. And is the difference between the fasttrack and the fasttrack pro higher quality also?

Just not entirely sure if it would be worth it, I certianly don't need any more inputs or outputs so I don't want to be spending money on that. But a sound quality boost would defiantly make me happy.

i own the fast track pro and i love it. the quality and performance are excellent.

Yes: And much more than that.
The Fast Track USB does not provide phantom power and more importantly, does not support ASIO.
You'll have to trust me on this one, I'm afraid.
The Fast Track USB will not satisfy your needs.
The Fast Track Pro or a similar interface in that price range is what you need.

You can plug the bass directly into any interface with a 1/4" jack.
So the short answer is "Yes" but I'd start a new thread if you want to know what bass players prefer.
Some like to record with a mic in front of their bass amp for a fuller sound, others go "Line IN" for ease of use.
Either way, if you have a bass amp (which I imagine you do) you don't have to spend any more money.
