I just got a Pod for my guitar and its like the fog has lifted...LOL. I do all direct in recording thru a somewhat inexpensive mixer and decent Soundblaster (Live). I'm wondeing if anyone can recomend a modest priced piece of equipment that can do for my vocals what this Pod is doing for my guitar tracks.

I have a Sure SM58 left over from my live giging days and a decent reverb but my overall sound has gotten very clean + crisp as I have upgraded my stuff and its left my vocals sounding very weak. Pod...ryhmes with God....hummmmmmmmm. Anyway, I probably need some sort of pre-amp or something...any "modest" priced equipment out there? I have a Clapton-like voice and I need some re-enforcing.

Thanks for all the knowledge available here...people helping people....I like it.

Get I micpre.

Also dump the SB Live and get a Audigy 2 if your fond of SB. Big difference in floor noise and quality ( not pro though)

Depends on your budget to.

Do a search for a VTB-1 and youll find help.

IMO, all the under $300 preamps are all about the same, give or take a little... humm, with that said... if you can only afford a cheapo preamp, see if you can find yourself a DMP3 preamp.
