Hey, I have a Alesis USB8 mixer to do simple recording and it sounds pretty good.

I was wondering is it possible to produce good sound with this set up.

Guitar > AX300G (Multi Effects Proccesor) > Alesis 8USB.

Help ? I will be upgrading next year, but this is what I'll have to stay with until I get money : ]

Thanks!

why are you asking us if something you own sounds good?
You own it....does it sound good to you?

however, on the flip side of things...it doesn't appear your mixer supports Hi-Z input. A direct box may help get a tad better sound and make it more compatible with your mixer

Hi-Z means "High Impedance" which is what a Guitar and Bass is , A High impedance source...(1m ohm +)

The line inputs in your Mixer are not high impedance they are generally Mid impedance (10k ohm) so the Impednace mismact when plugging a Guitar into a Line input will cause a drastic loss of signal strength and will bring up the noise floor dramitcly.....

You will not get a Good Clear sound recording this way unless you put a "D.I" between the Guitar and the Mixer....

The DI changes the high impedance of the Guitar to a Lower impedance for line inputs so you get a clean and strong signal......

Cheers
