Direct and micing bass

I have a nice direct out signal coming out of my ampeg B5R and then going into my mackie mixer before it hits my DAW. I am looking for a good mic (probably dynamic) to capture the speaker cabinet as well.

Are the Shure Beta 57's the way to go or is there something else out there for around $150 that I should be looking at?

i have limited experiance with it but some people really love it

Actually, I love AKG 414's and 451's on bass cabs in the studio. Those are out of the price range you are looking at, but my point here is maybe look into a condensor

I've had good luck with condensers on bass cab as well.

But then again,
I dont really have any good dynamics other than my 57.
