Digitech Vocalist Performer

This looks like it may be a pretty good, and easy to use box for vocals.

Has anyone tried it and is it any good? Mostly interested in ease of use, and quality of reverb.

Short story. A month ago some singers wanted me to record their song.They had minimal to average singing talents.Their
lyrics,which was in the key of A minor,was nice however they had absolutely no idea how to sing it in key or even sing a 3 part harmonic chord as they had no formal or informal vocal training whatsoever.I e-mailed sonusman asking for advice and asking him would the Digitech provide
any kind of assitance for untuned and untrained singers.His
advice was on point; basically no vocal effect/harmonizer would compensate for the lack of talent a vocalist has. So,I
decided to try and teach these young singers not how to sing
but how to sing THEIR song in key. Now I have ABSOLUTELY no
kind of vocal talent whatsoever,I mean I can't sing for sh#t(bass player by law) but being addicted to different kinds of gear,I bought 1 n-e way. This thing took my own suck-ass
voice and provided a decent 3-part harmony (mind you I just sang..DO-RE-MI-Fa etc.)The 'verbs sound kinda of canned,and
the chorus efx was decent,if you bypass the efx and just use
the HARMONIZER,and of course you have a talented singing voice,this box will provide some above average harmonies.
Mind you,this only my opinion!

i have the studio vocalist and am very pleased with it.you have to adjust the input and out puts a lot at first but it's pretty easy to get use to.it also has a feature which will bring a note up or down to the nearest semitone after you select the key you want.but as was stated earlier you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.either you can sing or you need lessons which most are to proud to take.any ways i've been pretty happy with all of my digitech purchases.

Pick out the harmony notes on your guitar or piano and sing them yourself.
It's a heckuva lot cheaper and sounds a zillion times better. Granted, it takes more time (and practice), but you'll be much more pleased with the final result.

Have one of the Digitechs Studio EX models and I am fortunate to be using it with some very talented vocalists. LOVE the harmonies I can get from the box, prefer the Lexicon verbs I have and have found that with the Digi box ya have to make sure you keep out EVERY unwanted signal (because it harmonizes EVERYTHING!!) and try feeding it the strongest signal you can without clipping so the harmonizer "locks" to that signal and does not pump and breathe in and out of harmony ( sounds corney when this happens). I am using a dbx 160A. Good luck.
