Hi ,
My home recording setup has a PIII 500, 512MB RAM,SCSI etc. I use Cubase 5.0,WaveLab 3.0 and dozens other such software along with JV2080, Mo'Phatt etc.
ALESIS Studio 24 is my mixer AND Terratec EWS88MT is my soundcard.
The external mixer(Alesis Studio 24) is used as Inline Monitor only. I don't do any mixing stuff outside the Cubase. I'm used to the Cubase mixer.
FX,EQ ect. are all software(Waves,Spectral Design etc).........no hardware at all !!!
Now I'm gonna convert my home recording set up into a professional studio.....I'll be recording directly to the Hard Disk. I won't be using any DATs for recording or mixing.
Genelec 1032a are my monitors and I want to produce the best quality music. The studio quality music.
My questions are.......
1. DO I NEED ANOTHER EXTERNAL MIXER?
(may be a better one) or the one I'm already using
is okay?
2. DO I NEED A DIGITAL MIXER AT ALL?
If I buy a digital mixer........will it be of any good?
Thanks in advance
