I have the chance to buy the korg d12, tascam 788 and the fostex vf-160 for $500 each. I will be recording one track at a time. Effects are a priority and I won't be using a computer. which one should I pick?

The Fostex doesn't record at 24 bit.
The Korg only allows 6 track playback at 24 bit.
The Tascam allows 8 track playback at 24 bit.

If 24 bit vs. 16 bit is important to you I would choose the Tascam. I own the Tascam 788 and I'm very pleased with it.
