If you are thinking of buying a digi 003 and using it with protools 9 or 8, I strongly suggest you don't. Please see the DUC forum (avid's forum and search for digi 003 driver")

This issue has been ongoing for 6 months (the digi 003 control surface freezes and become unusable) and NOTHING has been done about it by AVID.

With protools 8 you will be ok as far as you don't install the cs3 update (which introduces the issue). The 003 does simply not work with protools 9

Dozens of digi003 owners have been let down by Avid, don't risk being one of them! It is a black shame

One or dozens, they should be doing something about it!!!!!!!

true, yet when there are a lot of people experiencing the same thing (all with different computer specs, though it is limited to windows, mac owners are not affected) it becomes clear that the problem is in the software, not in the user's set up. And that is much more serious.
Though yes, I totally agree, even if it was a single users having the issue they should help. It is a £ 1600 product + £ 200 software upgrade... why should you not get tech suppoort for that as a single user experiencing a problem

But yes, it is dozens, and we are getting angrier and angrier. Read the post above, it will show you that clearly (540 posts though in that thread!)

Avid has been lying to us all the way. They said they have been "working on it" for the last 2 months, and it leaked last week that this issue has been put in their developers database for fixes only 4 days ago...

Truly out of order. That is why I want to let as many people as possible know. It is not simple revenge: I want to show AVId that if they keep treating their customers with such contempt it will backfire big time.

I love protools, and i want to save it from this careless compnay that has taken over it: Avid

I agree, I love Pro Tools as well, It seems that AVID have gone more to the side of Windows with the new stuff and left behind the old stuff and windows platform to fend. I am a Mac user and have not really had any serious issues but I am hoping they continue to support it as much as in the past.

What a relief when i've read that mac users are unaffected.
