I have the Digi 002 mixer. I just purchased a Voice master Pro and in the catalog it says I need to bypass the preamps in the Dig 002 then connect the Voicemaster to the Digi and turn it on. My question is how do I bypass the preamps on the digi?

theres 2 little buttons above the gain knobs, click the one on the left to disable the pre

No I'm not sure thats correct. Actually if you look on the back of your digi you'll see 1/4" inputs labeled 5-8 with little switches that say something like +4 -10. You want to use those 1/4" inputs and then just select whatever input you put the trackmaster thru. This will give you 5 preamps(voicemaster plus digi pre's) to record with. Remember inputs 5-8.

Jonnyc is correct, techically the "line in's" on channel 1-4 still go thru the preamp, the line/mic selector just switches in a pad to accomodate the larger line signals. Channels 5-8 go directly to the converters. In practice, you probably would be hard pressed to hear a difference.

Channels 5-8 have no preamps. Anything plugged into them bypasses the preamps. Those are channels for outboard preamps. I don't know if the Voicemaster Pro has digital output, but you can also bypass the preamps by going into coaxial or optical S/PDIF, or ADAT. Then, of course, how good it is will depend on the outboard preamp's A-D conversion, rather than the Digi002's.- Richie
