Digi 002 Computer Setup

I'm looking at getting the Digi 002 recording package from Digidesign and I was wondering what would anyone would recomend for a computer system to go with it? Most tell me a MAC, but what other specifics?
 
I've been running a 001 on a Mac G4 for 2 years. 100% problem free.
Go check out the digi user conference at www.digidesign.com to get more details. Supposedly PT 6 will support dual processors. Do a search when you get to the site. They're not always kind when you ask PT 6 questions.
 
Did they add a mixer to the Digi 002.. Im looking at the 001 and it is just the pre... No hardware sliders.....

The Digi 002 looks dope...
 
They added a "mixer". I think they call it an outboard control surface. It's got 4 preamps instead of 2 on the 001. I guess the pre amps are better. It also connects to your computer with firewire.

At $800 vs. $2200 I think the 001 is a better value, especially if you are using a mixer with it anyway.

Do you have any other recomendations for Specifications for the MAC computer? Anything I really dont need on the computer? What is the deal with the dual processors? do you have any information on those? Thanks,

Go here to get the scoop on PT 6 which will support dual processor.

I'm running PT 5.1 with a single processor Mac on OS 9 and I can do more than I ever would have believed. If you get PT 6 and run it on OS X on a dual processor Mac, I'm gonna find out where you live.:D

I don't think PT version 6 is out yet so you might want to wait a couple weeks.
