Difficulty with soundcard/n-track

I have just gotten my hands on a Echo Layla 20 bit soundcard. The recording software I use is n-track. I have gotten to the point where I can see all of the 8 tracks in n-track, but when I hit the record button I get the error message that says something like "can't support the file format." (I don't know the exact message b/c I'm not on my home PC). HAs anyone run into this problem?

Just an idea here.Stock n-Track records at 16 bit,upgradeable to 24 bit.Maybe the software for your card has a dialog box where you can set the bit rate to 16 instead of 20?
