Different Woods of guitar bodies?

So my question is sparked from parusing the warmoth direct website and looking at the prices of the various woods they offer their guitars in.
and my question being; what're the best woods for guitar bodies? Your views and etc

It all depends on what sort of character you want the guitar to have and also how you're going to construct and finish it. If there was a best wood for guitar bodies, they would all be made out of the same wood.

How much (and whether or not there is any) difference between the sound of solid body electric guitars made from different woods has been the subject of some quite lively debate.

i agree with metalhead, depending on what type of sound, music, and look you are going for. not to mention how you plan on finishing the guitar. the link he posted is a good place to start.
