Different vocal mic then the KSM32

I have a KSM32 for vocals and was looking for something else with a different sound, in case I come across a vocalist who's voice doesn't match up well with the KSM32. I'm considering buying an RE20 to use as a kick drum mic (I'm using a MD421 at the moments) which I have also seen used on vocals (the Clash used a RE20 on Sandinista!). Is there something else you'd recommend? Other microphone I'm interest in are the AKG C414 (how does this sound on electric guitar amps...I use a Fender Twin Reverb), Studio Projects C1, and Audio Technica AT4033.

The KSM-32 is a really neutral-sounding mic. Very accurate and realistic.

If you're looking for a different sound, then you'll probably want to start looking at something with much more of a sound / color to it.

Maybe look at some tube mics, ribbons, and/or some nice dynamics. That kinda' thing.

I'd also take a look at the MXL V69m or V6 which would offer a more colored sound than the ksm32. Another option might be the Rode NTK which is different than the other two, but also colored. The RE20 might also might be a nice pick up, although your MD421 might work on some vocalists aswell. It's fairly versatle, but can be picky at the same time. (If that makes any sense) :D
