Difference between Tc M-one and M-300

Does anyone have experience with tc electronics m-300 or m-one.

Im looking for a way to justify spending more money on the m-one. I also know that there is a new and improved version of the m-one called the m-one XL. I am recording vocals and acoustic guitar. The unit will be used mainly for vocals. I wish the people at the music store would act like real people instead of salesmen. I would be a whole lot more comfortable. Seem like they are always trying to lead me somewher else. They say things like , "No this is what you need. I only have one left so you better buy it now."

So thats why yourhelp is greatly appreciated.

Tonally they are about the same. There are more sounds in the M-One and you can customize each sound more extensively. The M-One XL has XLR inputs and even more sounds. That's about it.

The M300 is a great unit for $199. I was going to buy one but decided on a used M-One for the programmability and low cost on ebay.

I've never used the M1 (other than a rifle), but I've been using the M300 for some time without a hitch. Not only does it provide solid basic reverbs, but it really isn't a bad auxiliary compressor, and a fair A-D converter. I'm mostly recording dry tracks, so I don't use the reverbs much, except when I'm playing around. It is, however, the A-D convertor for my Avalon AD2022, and it has performed like a champ. Other than the RNC, I can't think of another $200 rack unit that is as useful. No wall wart, no transformer hum, and quite a bit of programmability. I also found it more user friendly than the compareable Lexicon unit. Just go to Guitar Satan and read the owner's manuals to an M300 and an MPX200.-Richie
