DI for bass not so great...

Right now I have a direct out going from a SVT head into an Apex 107 into a dbx 266xl for compression- defintly a colored sound going on, but it's sweet and round. :D

The ART tube MP isn't bad at all for DI on bass.

Pretty much describes the technique. If you've got two bass cabs you can try setting one in front of the other as suggested in the thread.

That way you don't have to worry bout mounting a speaker and you should be able to just use an instrument cable to hook the cabinet into you mixer.

I'm really not sure if that will give ya the sound you're looking for, but you can try mixing it with DI bass as another color.
