Desperately Need Help With My Setup

Hey - I've been trying to fix this problem since I received my equipment - 3 days ago - With all the research I've done I'm still at square one. If anyone can give me any direction I would REALLY appreciate it!
I'm new at all this so if anything seems obvious - I'm sorry just bear with me.

The purpose for the equipment is VO.

I'm using a Lexicon Alpha - audio interface, Behringer 802 mixer (mic preamp) and MXL 2001 mic. I'm using a PC and the speakers are connected to the CPU. The software is Audacity.

When I use Audacity with another USB mic it works perfectly.

I have the mic hooked up to channel 1 on the Behringer mixer (where is states mic preamp) phantom button is pressed. I also have a TRS balanced cable from the Main Out (L) and the other end connected to Line OUT (L) on the Alpha. The Alpha is connected to CPU via USB.

In Audacity I have the mic and output synched (wrong term?) with the Alpha .

I have done nothing with the speakers since they are hooked up to the cpu.

When I try to record now with Audacity - I get nothing.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Why are you connecting a line out on your mixer to a line out on your interface?

Out -> In

Thanks for responding! I was told how to set it up at the audio store - perhaps he didn't understand me. Anyway, I will try OUT to IN and see what happens - it sounds like it would make more sense. Thanks again.

Just for future reference, Out to Out will never work for anything. It's always ggt to be Out to In. OUT to OUT is morally wrong and still illegal in 12 states.
