I am fairly new to the digital recording scene but I am more than convinced that digital is the way to go...but I have some critical questions that would help me out a lot.

1) I have a Shure Mic and a Yamaha QY70 music sequencer and I'd like to run all of this through my computer. What's the cheapest preamp that I could buy that would run these two things to the line-in on the back of my sound card?

2) Can the above even be done? Do I need to go with a mixer instead?

3) If #1 Could be done, can I run more equipment through the preamp?

I apologize if these questions are really dumb, but the only way to learn is to ask, right? :)

Does your Yamaha have a line out? I would guess that most sequencers do. Run that to the line in on your sound card. The mic will most likely need a mixer/pre-amp. My Boss DR-5 has an input jack where I can plug in a mic and balance the level with the sequencer output. Both then go into my sound card and it works great! Perhaps the Yamaha has similar connections?

The QY70 has a midi in/out, headphones, TO host, and DC in connectors...no line out. Now what should I do?
