I finally got my SONAR 2.2 downloaded, which is a relief. Now, I got this Fantom 120 gig hard drive, peripheral, USB2.0, I'm planning to use for all my audio files. It's supposed to be plug-and-play. It ain't. The driver seemed to crash my Aardvark driver, which I had to reinstall, and the thing just won't work (the hard drive) and it makes my computer blank out and freeze up until I pull the plug out, then it goes back to normal. Anyone know about these USB drives? Chris

Ugh, I'm sorry Chriss, I never use USB drive. You better ask also in Computer recording & soundcard forum for this topic. Just make a thread linked to this thread, so it won't be considered cross post.

USB 2

The tech is too immature for digital audio. I use a firewire drive with my del laptop all the time and it works great. The driver cycle for USB 2 is not as far along as FW. In a year or so it will be much better.

Goos luck,
RD

If it's not plug and pray, then consult Tech Support. Sometimes they know what they're doing... ;)
